THE 1st ANNUAL CANDY CANE CLASH
WELCOME TO THE FIRST IN-HOUSE MEET OF THE SEASON!
When: Friday, December 6th
Time: 3:30-5:30PM (pool doors open at 3:30pm - event starts at 4pm)
Who can attend?: THE WHOLE CLUB!
This is a new event we are introducing this year that has been created for the ENTIRE club to enjoy - from Minnows to Great Whites! There will be something for all skill levels to participate in. This is also a great event for new parents to witness the ins and outs of competitive swimming in a fun, no-pressure-at-all environment. You will not want to miss it!
How Does This Work?
All swimmers (Minnows/Makos/Greys/Blues/Great Whites/University) will be broken into 6 teams total where they will work together all season to earn "points" for their respective team. By attending this in-house meet, this will kick start earning points for their team for the remainder of the season! The team with the most points by the end of the last In-House meet (May 30th) will be the recipients of the new coveted Golden Shark Trophy!! At each of the in-house meets, teams will be competing for the following award:
1) Dec. 6th, 2024 - The 2024 Candy Cane Clash Cup
2) Feb. 14th, 2025 - The 2025 Sweet Tart Trophy
3) May 30th, 2025 - The 2025 Golden Flippers Award
My goal this season is to find ways to bring our club together on various occasions to celebrate just how strong and mighty we truly are. I can't help but think of our annual Swim-A-Thon every year - it is magic when all the Sharks are together sharing a common goal! I wish to create more opportunities like that for all club members.
Declarations
I need to know by Wednesday, December 4th if your swimmer will NOT be attending this event. You can "declare" your swimmer's attendance by visiting this link: https://ssc.poolq.net/events and clicking on the "Accept/Decline" button.
If you made it to the end of this message, congratulations More information, such as timeline of events, what swimmers should bring to the pool and how to sign up as a helping hand on deck will be out by Monday.
Thanks,
Brenna
